Those restored buildings really are beautiful. In the town I live in, they just knock them down and build something new (and ugly). My hometown restored many buildings. Man, they missed many opportunities to advertise Hooker! And, passing any big trucks makes me worry they might not see me! At least you had that little signal telling you when you could pass.
Yes, I couldn't believe how beautiful the town is! And later I learned that a good art buddy here in LA has friends that own a gallery there. I think Fort Scott is a little gem on the prairie. And I'm sure there are more to discover. I just have to keep driving the back roads. :-)
