6.6-9.2024
The week of June 6-13 was time with friends and family.
On 6.6, I left Mom’s for my high school alma mater, Emma Willard - an all-girls’ boarding school in Troy, NY - to celebrate my 50th reunion.
Many outside the insular world of private college prep education don’t understand the whole concept. I grew up in it, my dad being an instructor and administrator at prep schools all my life until he retired.
I wasn’t sent away because I was acting out, it was more a family expectation, and I wanted to get out! I was allowed to choose my school, and I chose Emma because they had a fantastic art department and a curriculum with more electives than requirements.
The beautifully maintained campus didn’t hurt either!
An inside shot:
We stayed in the dorms, and this was my room:
On to various events…
It was a fabulous weekend connecting with my classmates.
Nadine came all the way from France!
That sounds so neat! That is such a beautiful campus.
I went to a girl's day school in 7th grade and had a hard time with the other kids. so that was it for me.
this looks like a great deal of fun, though! a cool group indeed.
